Éire is a Melbourne based jewellery brand by Matisse Stynes. Developed through her Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT and Master of Arts in Jewellery Metal at RCA, Matisse’s artistic practice is inspired by her relationships with people and place, and the consequent memories formed. These positive connections are explored through familiar symbols and precious metals, and aim to remind the wearer of their own uplifting relationships and memories. The joyful charms aim to contrast the hardship and sadness humans inevitably experience.
The Gaelic name Éire which translates to Ireland is a nod to Matisse's Irish heritage and her late father's first business venture. It was his entrepreneurialism that inspired Matisse to believe in herself and launch her own business.
